It is interesting how they pick and choose their language very carefully, because they are well aware that they are on the wrong side of this issue. The pro-aborts were FURIOUS with Hillary when she stumbled the other day and uttered the phrase “unborn children”.
I think the left is trying to move the bar by acknowledging the humanity of the fetus, but standing firm that ‘it’ has no rights.

Once they have acknowledged that the “fetus” is a life, not to mention a HUMAN life, they have lost the entire argument. If the fetus is a life (it is), then he or she has rights under due process according to the 5th and 14th amendments, if I am not mistaken.
No … only if they have personhood. The pro abortion argument is getting more aggressive in acknowledging humanity while denying personhood. Pro lifers need to push back and link humanity with personhood.
