Newt Gingrich is a historian.
That makes him kind of unique among contemporary political figures who forget history; who rewrite history; and who sleep walk through history (his line).
At last night’s Republican National Convention, Newt Gingrich said it is no longer acceptable to have our leaders lie to the American people about the threat of Islamic terrorism. We can no longer ignore history.

I’m sure some liberals could make the case that $19 million to examine gas emissions from cow flatulence is a noble endeavor. On the other hand, a Mayor Rudy Giuliani said it pays to eradicate the small stuff first to establish credibility on the big stuff. I wish more reporters would ask Tom Vilsack about the 400 grand we’re spending on fancy portraits at a time that the middle class is sinking under Obamanomics.
