I’m not sure how you can equate the two? You need to give a few justifications for how the two are equivalent.

How can they not be equal? Each takes away ownership of a human life and gives it to another.

How does abortion give ownership to another person? A fetus inside a mothers womb is part of the mother and therefore she has dominion over it and to do with it as she chooses, as with any other part of her body. Also, what is your definition of life?

I think the expression “preaching to the choir” applies here. Those people who agree with you that human life begins at conception are already on board, but they/you are in the minority. You need scientific proof of when human life begin. Few people equate a fertilized cell to a human person.

Slaves were living, breathing people with hopes and dreams along with fear and pain.

A fetus (Latin for “little one”), and unborn child is a separate human being from his or her mother with his or her own DNA. An unborn child is not simply, “part of the mother,” nor does she simply, “have dominion over” him or her, “to do with as she chooses.” An unborn baby is not in any way, shape or form just a “part of” his or her mother’s body. Those assertions are not only not scientifically incorrect, they represent immoral thinking.

You nailed it, Lisa. Thanks for weighing in.

Please show me your sources (The scientific ones that ‘prove’ I am wrong) and I will be quite happy to change my mind but until then I cannot. Also please do not talk of morality to me as it is subjective.

The two are absolutely related! However, what makes abortion more appalling is that it destroys the life of a completely defenseless human… At least with slavery there have been isolated instances of slaves rising up against their oppressors and killing them.
