If President Hoover had been honest with Black people back then, they would still vote Republican. He betrayed them, and then along came Roosevelt with all his promises, and the blacks fell for his agenda. Their so called leaders want to keep them as such, while they fill their wallets, on the backs of Blacks. Just saying.

Tell me more about what President Hoover did.

To begin with, in order to gain Republican votes, he ousted many Black leaders form the party, and replaced them with whites. Needless to say, there was a revolt among these blacks which culminated in a switch to the Democratic party. I don’t know if you are familiar with the great disaster of 1927, or the great Mississippi. Hoover, who was the head of the Commerce Dept. became a hero, but not to the blacks who were affected by this tragedy. They were treated horribly, by him, and as result, he was viewed as a non-humanitarian by the black population. Blacks lost much.

Hoover tried to mend things, and some leaders did manage to convince some blacks to continue supporting Hoover, but the promises he had made prior to getting elected were broken. This resulted in a backlash by black voters, which shifted their allegiance to the Democratic Party. In 1932, the Dems won. That’s all I can remember.
