The explosive story the news industry loves to ignore

By Tom Quiner

An ‘explosive’ story ‘rages.’

These two colorful words were used by Des Moines Register reporter, Tony Leys, in his piece on Friday, July 17th:  “Grassley investigates Planned Parenthood.”

In case you missed the reporting, here’s what happened. A pro life group did some investigative reporting.  They went undercover to capture a Planned Parenthood executive on video admitting that they sell body parts of aborted babies for money.  Senator Charles Grassley got into the mix and is investigating to see if Planned Parenthood’s actions violate federal law.

We’ll let the Senator and the lawyers figure that part out.  To me, the interesting part of the story are those two words used in the first sentence, ‘explosive’ and ‘rages.’

If this raging story was so explosive, why did the Register sit on it?  It was old news by the time they decided to cover the story.  The story broke on the 14th.  The Register didn’t get to it until the 17th.

They weren’t alone.  ABC and CBS ignored the story.  NBC doled out thirty-nine seconds.  On the other hand, Fox News jumped on the story, treating it as the legitimate news story it was and is.

I say “is,” because the same intrepid pro life investigative journalists have released a second, even more damning undercover video. It features a different Planned Parenthood exec acknowledging their trafficking in human body parts, even haggling over the price.  If the Register covered this new video, I missed it.

The MSM’s coverage of this story is reminiscent of their blackout of Kermit Gosnell’s “House of Horrors” story in Philadelphia.  Dr. Gosnell not only performed human abortion, he killed babies after they were born by “snipping” their necks with scissors, severing their spinal chords.  Witnesses claimed he might have killed a couple hundred babies this way.  He was convicted of first degree murder in three of the deaths, and manslaughter for a woman who died as a result of a botched abortion.

So much for women’s reproductive health.

Interestingly, the MSM had no interest in covering that story, ignoring it for three years.  It took a public backlash to hound them into reluctantly covering a story that put a spotlight on the human abortion industry.

One could almost come away with the impression that the MSM is less than objective when it comes to covering such a touchy subject as human abortion.

Why would that be?

Could it be that it reveals the depravity of an industry with which they are sympathetic?  Just look at the Register’s own editorial treatment of the story:  they practically swoon in their defense of Planned Parenthood.

On the other hand, ordinary people are repulsed.

We’ve been told over the years by Democratic politicians and Planned Parenthood apologists that “the thing” in the womb isn’t a person.  But now we know better.  We’ve seen the ultrasounds.  It’s not a thing.  It’s got hands and a head and a heart.

Its DNA is human.

Its genetic code is intact at conception, as is his or her full human potential.

This whole ghoulish affair points out the lie of human abortion.  Planned Parenthood execs injudiciously admitted that they are careful not to harm the human heart, liver, or lungs when performing human abortion, because these human organs have a monetary value.  Here’s her exact quote:

“We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna [sic] crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”

These body parts belong to a human being, a person.  We now know that this person feels pain a mere 20 weeks after her conception.  And yet Democratic politicians refuse to regulate the industry and end this inhumanity.

With each new, gruesome revelation from the human abortion factories, the complicit media either stifles the story, or gives it tepid coverage, no matter how “raging” or “explosive” it may be.

This latest expose’ once again reveals the moral rot in an industry that receives taxpayer funding.  In the name of decency, this must stop.

Tom, you say,” And yet Democratic politicians refuse to regulate the industry and end this inhumanity.” It is precisely because it is an explosive “political” issue, a hot button topic, that the liberals will not, cannot, touch it. Anyone who dares deviate from the “party line” will be excoriated, ruined, ostracized and exiled. Even though many of the fence-sitters know that irrevocable harm is being done to the innocents, they will let it go. They will allow their consciences to close up, to sear, so that they will not have to buck the established elite. The temptation is too strong. They never learned to exercise their will for the good.

The cruel “Hitlers,” the “Stalins,” the “Mengeles” of this world control it and even though they are the few, they wield a wide influence of guise and cruelty. Those who become too powerful, too rich, too famous (those who are corrupt) join this syndicate and others less powerful and less rich but all aspirants of the same riches become the willing lackeys (the Obama’s, the Clinton’s, the Katzenberg’s, etc). Truly they believe it is “cool” to be the anti. It is “nerdy” to be conservative or religious. They are the ones who know better than the rest of us.

You also say, “This latest expose’ once again reveals the moral rot in an industry that receives taxpayer funding.” Methinks, Tom, there’s lots of moral rot to go around.

Tom, and followers of Quiners Diner, have you had a chance to read a pretty explosive article by Stacy Trasancos titled “The Trail of Fetal Body Parts in Scientific Papers”? It is at Catholic Stand. I commented on her article (my username there is barbieahayes). Take a read, just so you have proof of the lies and cover-ups in the diabolical abortion industry. Shame on America!
