GALLUP: Americans believe our government is corrupt

When Barack Obama was elected president, two out of three Americans believed corruption was widespread throughout our government.

Under the Obama government, that number has grown to three out four, according to the new Gallup survey.

Most administrations experience a notable scandal. The rising distrust in government during the Obama years is fueled by a shocking number of big and small scandals in his administration.

Let’s begin with Obama cronyism. The administration took taxpayer money along with borrowed money from China and distributed it to his friends at Solyndra and other green energy companies, a dozen of whom blew through the cash and went bankrupt.

When GM was going broke, Team Obama denied bankruptcy deficiency claims to legitimate creditors to divert multi billion dollar payouts to his union cronies.

The president’s IRS targeted conservative groups in a successful effort to keep them from participating in anti-Obama election efforts in 2012.

In Benghazi, the president and his secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, denied adequate security to our ambassador, leading to the deaths of four Americans. Their immediate response was to lie to the American public as to the cause of the attack, blaming it on an American instead of Islamic terrorists.

In the ‘Fast and Furious’ gun running scandal, our inept government armed criminals with a ton of weapons, and then stonewalled Congress when they tried to investigate. A U.S. border agent died as a result.

Obamacare was scandal in the sense that it was passed based on a series of lies, such as ‘if you like you current plan, you can keep it.’ We were told human abortion services would not be included. They were slipped in the back door. We were told premiums would drop. They rose. I have barely scratched the surface of this boondoggle.

And then there was the shoddy treatment of our veterans by Obama’s Veteran’s Administration, manifested by delayed and denied care. Men and women died.

This combination of deceit and incompetence has led to the inevitable decline in trust in government, and worse, a belief that our government is corrupt.

A Hillary Clinton presidency would only make matter worse.
