Ayaan Hirsi Ali: not welcome at Brandeis University

The Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is an American branch of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood with  a disturbing set of core values, as written by Mohammed Akram:

“[The Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

How can CAIR destroy America from within? For starters, it is imperative that they stifle free speech of those who expose the dark side of Islam. CAIR came into existence after Arnold Schwarzenegger’s movie, “True Lies,” hit  box office gold back in the 90s. The villain in the film was an Arab Muslim.

The need to subdue stereotyping is certainly understandable, even commendable. Sadly, the political Left is carrying the water for CAIR at the same time they undermine Christianity with their attacks on wedding vendors, Duck Dynasty, Chic-fil-A, Mozilla, and anyone else who embraces traditional Christian values.

On the other hand, when Brandeis University announced that Hirsi Ali, a woman who is critical of traditional Muslim values,  was going to be bestowed with an honorary degree a few years ago, CAIR screamed and Brandeis caved. They pulled the plug on Ms. Ali before you could say jihad.

Although Ms. Ali is an atheist, a faith system with which the Left is quite comfortable, she is also a vocal critic of Islamic genital mutilation of young girls and calls for women’s rights in Muslim countries.

You’d think that would dovetail with the Left’s values systems, but it doesn’t. In the name of political correctness, diversity, and political cowardice, Brandeis de-honored Ms. Ali.

Score another victory for intolerance.

In the video above, Ms. Ali explores the disconnect between Western feminists’ advocacy of women’s rights at the same time that they downplay Muslim men’s oppression and victimization of Muslim women.
