Flannery O’Connor honored with commemorative stamp

Flannery O’Connor was a great American writer and essayist who died 50 years ago.
The never-married Ms. O’Connor was also a staunch Catholic who viewed sex through the prism of her faith, as beautifully expressed with this quote:
“The sex act is a religious act, and when it occurs without God it is a mock act or at best an empty act. …Two people can remain ‘in love’ … only if their common desire for one another unites in a greater desire for God.”
