Liberals sneered at Sara Palin’s contention that socialized medicine by necessity includes death panels.
The mainstream media, of course, backed them up with dismissive articles that characterized Ms. Palin and anyone who opposes the mock benevolence of socialized medicine as a whack job.
Liberals are good at masking the sometimes immoral purposes of a government bureau, so they’ll give it a soothing name, such as an Independent Payment Advisory Board.
Whatever one calls it, a death panel determines who can get care and when, since rationing is a cornerstone of socialized medicine.
The debate over Obamacare right now is really about whether we move to a single payer system, like Great Britain. Single payer is the goal of liberals, since it gives them complete control over our lives.
The tragic case of Charlie Gard is a case in point. Britain’s single payer national healthcare system is about to kill little Charlie Gard.
Not even a year old, little Charlie suffers from what is called an incurable, terminal disease. But a doctor in the United States says he has an experimental treatment that might help.
Charlie’s parents raised the funds they need to bring him to America where there is at least a little hope that he can be saved. Here is where the death panel comes in. They said no.
The hospital wouldn’t release Charlie Gard to his own parents. It wouldn’t look good if someone with money, even if they raised it on GoFundMe, was able to save their child when a poorer person couldn’t.
When you have socialized medicine, you give up control of your own life, and even that of your infant.
The European Court of Human Rights denied parents their rights and ordered the plug be pulled on Charlie Gard.
This is America’s future if Democrats win.
