A cynical prayer

By Tom Quiner

Planned Parenthood must really be desperate.

They are actually turning to prayer in a sort of “Hail Mary” attempt to help them hold on to their crumbling human abortion empire. No, let’s be honest. It’s a cynical ploy to stem the tide against them by people of faith who believe God is on the side of the pre born.

In order to counteract the success that religious nut cases (like me) are having through our unrelenting rosaries and prayer vigils, Planned Parenthood in Ohio is cynically calling for their own prayer vigils.

Here’s  what’s going on: Ohio doesn’t want to expand Obamacare.  Planned Parenthood does since it funds human abortion.

Here is their announcement:

Ohio faith leaders will culminate a week of prayer on issues that affect all Ohioans on Thursday. Join Planned Parenthood supporters and faith leaders from across Ohio at a Statehouse prayer rally.

August 28 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Ohio Statehouse — 3rd Street Steps

Moral Mondays was started in North Carolina by Rev. William Barber, head of the state NAACP, to protest that state’s failure to enact the ACA’s Medicaid expansion and other policies that were “morally indefensible,” including attacks on women’s rights. Recently, Rev. Barber put out a call to spread the movement to other states with a week of actions at the end of August. This week of action provided an opportunity to focus on issues relating to civil rights and social and economic justice.

Can you imagine? The NAACP is joining in this prayer effort to expand human abortion even more.

Is this a sick joke? Well over half of black babies are already being aborted. How many more need to die? Sixty percent? Seventy percent?

I suppose the Planned Parenthood prayer goes something like this :

“Our Creator, who art in heaven, you have made us in your image, so we’ve heard. Yes, yes, all life flows from you, but you have given human beings free will and intelligence. This is huge, God. We thank-you for this right to make our own choices, which includes control over the timing on when to accept children, if ever, into our lives. We fervently pray to you, the bestower of choice, the Mother of mankind, the protectoress of women’s reproductive health, to intercede and protect our access to human abortions. Amen.”

Here is my prayer …

“Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do.”
