Will homosexual activists ruin the St. Patrick Day’s parade?

Bill Donohue is a Catholic pit bull.
I say that respectfully. I wish there were more like him. He runs the Catholic League, modeled, I suspect, on the Jewish Anti-Defamation League. Mr. Donohue is a forceful defender of the Catholic Church and an astute watchdog on cultural attacks against Catholics.
He weighed in on the decision by the committee that runs the St. Patrick’s Day Parade to allow homosexual activist groups into the parade. He takes a somewhat more nuanced stance on this development than did Monsignor Charles Pope, as quoted in a previous Quiner’s Diner post. Here is Mr. Donohue’s statement:
“Never in the history of New York’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade have homosexuals been barred from marching, anymore than pro-life Catholics have, but in both cases they were not permitted to have their own unit. I have been assured that the rules have been formally changed to allow both of these groups, as well as others, to march under their own banner. That being the case, there should be no controversy. One would hope that all the new entries will conduct themselves in a manner that honors St. Patrick, lest another round of controversy emerges.”
Are you confident that homosexual activist groups will conduct themselves with dignity? If their conduct in other

parades is any indication, I’m dubious.
Let us consider the rich legacy of St. Patrick.
He was the driving force (inspired by the Holy Spirit) in bringing Catholicism to an entire country, Ireland. Gay activist groups oppose Church teachings in the public square.
It is fair to consider that Jesus hung out with sinners, prostitutes, and tax collectors, the lowest of the low. He did this out of His fervent desire to evangelize them and expose them to the power of God’s love.
St. Patrick, inspired by this Divine Love, devoted his life to converting Irish pagans to become Irish Catholics. Was he ever successful!
Will homosexual activists respect this legacy, or will they set out to defile it?
No, Cardinal Dolan will. Not only will he ruin the parade, he will ruin Catholicism, which is much, much worse!
Feelings seem to be running deep regarding Cardinal Dolan, and they aren’t positive. He will be speaking in Des Moines in a few weeks at the Christ Our Life Conference. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say. Thanks for writing.
More importantly, what the audience,asks, and says. I’m beginning to think that our beloved Church is being destroyed by the devil from within, by men without convictions about the validity of the Bible’s word. Sadly, it may be up to the male laity to reverse this treacherous course by speaking up, and doing it loudly and forcefully, like Ken Langone, the wealthy Catholic philanthropist who restored St. Pat’s Cathedral and Bill Donahue from Catholic League. They are both, very vocal, in their criticism of the Pope and the crazy liberals trying to hijack the Church. We needs thousands more Catholic MEN with the courage of their rightful convictions, to wrestle the Church back from the brink of disaster.
