I couldn’t believe it.
A good friend stayed with Karen and me over the weekend. She’s a Catholic nun living in Chicago. Like most nuns of her era, she is politically liberal.
The subject of the Planned Parenthood (PP) expose’ came up. She knew nothing, absolutely nothing, about the damning videos that have been systematically released exposing the depravity of the organization.
How could you not know, I enquired?
Here’s the answer: The news she watches is strictly from the mainstream media, which has pretty much imposed another news blackout on a news story that paints PP in a bad light.
Here are some numbers: since July 14th, the Center for Media Progress has released some 16 hours, 11 minutes and 35 seconds of video footage which exposes how Planned Parenthood profiteers from selling body parts from aborted human babies.
In that time period, the legacy television networks, ABC, CBS, and NBC have aired but 73 seconds of this damning video footage.
No wonder my friend missed the story.
Five more videos have been released since the MSM doled out their 73 seconds. They have chosen to ignore them. As far as they’re concerned, the story is old news. It’s done. No more coverage.
Here is what is so newsworthy about the story: Planned Parenthood KNOWS the story can destroy them, because Planned Parenthood knows that THEY … ARE … BAD.
Let me say that again: Planned Parenthood KNOWS … THAT … THEY … ARE … BAD.
If they thought what they were doing was good, they wouldn’t fret about a little coverage from the MSM media, that has their back, but they did fret. They knew the consequences, as revealed on the uncover videos:
“This could destroy your company and us, if we don’t time those conversations correctly. We’re trying to figure this out as an industry, about how we’re going to manage remuneration. Because the headlines would be a disaster.”
How do you avoid a disaster? Through the complaisance of the MSM. Their heart isn’t in real journalism when it comes to their friends at Planned Parenthood. They’d rather cover Republican politicians with bad hair or African lions shot by American dentists.
At least Planned Parenthood was honest on the undercover video on how bad they are when they admitted:
“Obviously we would have the potential for a huge PR issue by doing this.”
It turns out that profiting by selling body parts of aborted human babies is not a PR issue as far as the MSM is concerned. They chose to ignore the story so completely that a liberal nun had no idea what was going on.
