These stories of human carnage dominate the news cycle. The reports on cable news outlets are non-stop.

It is not my personal favorite, that honor going to Bennie & the Jets, but it features a great melody and exceptional lyrics from Bernie Taupin.
Because of its range, it is a brutal song to sing. I just heard a wonderful, totally unique take on the song by singer Sara Bareilles. Watch the video above.

Mr. Hatch, the Democratic candidate for Governor this year, led the charge to smear a good, Catholic woman and keep her off the Iowa Board of Medicine, to which she had been nominated by Republican Governor, Terry Branstad.
