Why do Catholics call Mary the “Queen of Heaven?”

By quinersdiner | June 7, 2016

I recently wrote and produced a musical, THE FIRE AND THE MERCY, The Pentecost Musical.

There’s a scene where Jesus refers to Mary, His Mother, as the future ‘Queen of Heaven.’ That is Catholic belief, but not of many Protestants.

In the audio clip above from Catholic Answers Live, Catholic apologist, Tim Staples, provides the scriptural basis for this Catholic belief. Mr. Staples is the author of , “Behold Your Mother, a Biblical and Historical Defense of the Marian Doctrines.”

As a former Protestant who once disagreed with certain tenets of Catholicism, I have discovered that much disagreement is based on misinformation.

Tim Staple’s explanation above demonstrates that the Queen of Heaven designation wasn’t just snatched out of thin air, but in fact has solid biblical underpinnings…

Is God a mathematician? Or is God … Love?

Michio Kaku, a renown string theory physicist, leans toward a mathematician. But he knows the universe is too symmetrical, too orderly, too “beautiful” to have just happened without some sort of Intelligent Designer…

Martin Luther King was a Baptist minister.

He properly compares human abortion to slavery in the meme above. Since his violent death in 1968, millions upon millions of black babies have also experienced violent death through human abortion.

Sadly, many important institutions in this country have not only looked the other way, but have encouraged the spread of human abortion into our inner cities, our ghettos, and even abroad into economically challenged nations…

There’s this guy who is on television all the time.

He has a ‘uge ego.

He has a big mouth.

He denigrates his adversaries.

He’s rich.

He’s been married a bunch of times.

He’s cheated on his wives.

He is famous and well-known.

I’m describing two men, actually…

A fresh take on ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’

By quinersdiner | June 2, 2016

“Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” is considered one of Elton John’s greatest hits.

Released in 1973, the song was an international sensation, hitting #1 on the Cashbox 100 and #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

The song continues its robust sales with prolific online downloads as each new generation discovers the appeal of this pop hit.

I’ve heard Elton sing it in concert as well as Bill Joel. However, the best cover yet is a haunting rendition by Sara Bareilles. Ms. Bareilles has a wonderful, expressive voice which she accompanies with her own piano playing.

She took Elton’s song and transformed it into something fresh and new. You’re going to love it!
