Economic martyrdom in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah

By quinersdiner | November 6, 2013

When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames. Our first retail store wasn’t much bigger than most people’s living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God’s word.
From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states …

How to go 25 years without being discouraged

By quinersdiner | November 6, 2013

I meet with a great group of people every Wednesday morning.
We talk about serious faith issues. We’re all Catholic, and love learning more about our Church. The bond amongst this group is tremendous. Some of us are converts to the faith, coming from diverse faith backgrounds such as Christian Science, and even atheism.
We each have problems in our lives. When things are particularly tough, we pray together about these problems. We talk them out, encourage each other, sometimes injecting a little humor to put things in perspective …

The brazen lie

By quinersdiner | November 5, 2013

As of earlier today, the Obamacare website STILL stuck to the lie that if you like your current health insurance, you can keep it.
I posted the screen above as proof.
As recently as September 26th, Barack Obama was STILL making the same claim. Amazingly, just five days before the Obamacare exchanges were to open and the lie would be exposed, the president stuck to the lie.
Here is the question: are these people stupid, arrogant, or sociopaths?

"Did you ever meet a normal human?"

Ronald Reagan was a man of the people.
This Hollywood Democrat landed a job hosting television’s new General Electric Theater. His life would never be the same. For one thing, he owned a piece of this wildly popular show, which is how he made his fortune.
For another, as part of his job, GE sent him all over the country to visit their plants and give speeches to their employees and customers as a PR move. Some quarter of a million people heard him speak over an eight year period.
Mr. Reagan gave a great speech, which made him popular with the working class Americans who worked in GE’s plants and factories. But something more important than celebrity came out of all his exposure to working class America. He had a chance to listen to normal people …

God loves us into existence

Zacchaeus was a scumbag.
He wasn’t just a tax collector at the time of Christ, he was the chief tax collector. He collaborated with the Romans by becoming their tax collector, seizing money from his Jewish neighbors on behalf of their oppressors, and keeping a cut for himself.
A modern equivalent for a liberal would be a greedy capitalist who exploits the little guy so he can live in his fancy, gated community while the world falls apart around him.
A modern equivalent for a conservative might be a politician who seizes (taxes) money from the little guy and passes it onto their pals in the human abortion industry …

Pro lifers can use Roe v. Wade to end human abortion

By quinersdiner | November 3, 2013

For 40 years, nine unelected men and women on the Supreme Court have played God with innocent human life.
They have invented laws that condemned to painful deaths without trial more than 56 million babies for the crime of being “inconvenient.”
In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling forced abortion-on-demand down our nation’s throat.
In the past, many in the pro-life movement have felt limited to protecting a life here and there — passing some limited law to slightly control abortion in the more outrageous cases.
But some pro-lifers always seem to tiptoe around the Supreme Court, hoping they won’t be offended.
Now the time to grovel before the Supreme Court is over …

The weekend is here. Will you join me in sharing a little light humor from NewsBusted’s renown Jodi Miller?
Ms. Miller looks inside the soul of liberal thoughts and actions and pierces it with some gentle humor. Even the most strident liberal can’t help but chuckle at the inerrant accuracy of her reporting.
She offers up some delectable news morsels today, including:
