Another “bait and switch” from Planned Parenthood

By quinersdiner | March 12, 2013

Planned Parenthood left out some key details when they announced to the media their new location at 818 5th Avenue in downtown Des Moines, IA. They told the media the new location is for “treatment for colds and the flu, sore throats and ear aches” (Associated Press 3/2/13). Planned Parenthood spokesperson Shelby Cloke told the media abortions will not be performed there. But on Planned Parenthood’s website, first on its list of services for the new location is, “Abortion Referral.”

Your tax dollars are being spent to determine why lesbians are fat

By quinersdiner | March 12, 2013

By Tom Quiner Three-quarters of lesbians are fat. Three-quarters of gay men are not. Who cares? The National Institute of Health (NIH) cares. In this era of government-gone-wild spending, these zealous watchdogs of health are taking your money to conduct a study to get a better understanding of this conundrum. Their thinking must go something like this: since both groups have same-sex attractions, therefore both groups should be fat. But…

The case against tax-payer funded subsidies for electric cars

By quinersdiner | March 11, 2013

Environmentalist Bjorn Lombort says the electric car is bad for the environment. You read that right. He says a 2012 study about the environmental efficacy of the electric car appeared in the Journal of Industrial Ecology that reveals that the electric car is worse for the environment than a vehicle fueled by gasoline.

What Obama could learn from Rudy Giuliani

By quinersdiner | March 10, 2013

I’m sure some liberals could make the case that $19 million to examine gas emissions from cow flatulence is a noble endeavor. On the other hand, a Mayor Rudy Giuliani said it pays to eradicate the small stuff first to establish credibility on the big stuff. I wish more reporters would ask Tom Vilsack about the 400 grand we’re spending on fancy portraits at a time that the middle class is sinking under Obamanomics.

A beautiful morning praying at Planned Parenthood in the rain

By quinersdiner | March 9, 2013

We had an affect on a couple of passing cars that we do know about. One gentleman pulled into the parking lot and walked over through the rain to give us $20. That will go to the Respect Life committee at my parish, Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Another man and his young son pulled up and brought us two trays of hot chocolate from a local coffee shop.

The devastating power of prayer

By quinersdiner | March 9, 2013

Something big is happening right now. It goes by two names: 1) 40 Days for Life 2) 40 Days of Hell. The name depends on your perspective. In one hour I will be praying in front of Planned Parenthood on Army Post Road from 10AM til noon. For my Des Moines readers, please join us.

NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg plans to ban 32-ounce bags of cat Kibble?

This is but one breaking news story brought to you by our favorite reporter, NewsBusted’s Jodi Miller. Here are this week’s stories: √ Mean Republicans want to kill poor people. √ President grants Republicans a 7 minute meeting. √ President announces he is not a dictator. √ Sequester plague…

The disordered liberal belief system

By quinersdiner | March 8, 2013

Bill Clinton joins a parade of liberal politicians who are quickly jettisoning conviction for the sake of politics. Some might say that Bill Clinton isn’t doing this out of politics because he won’t be running for public office again. True, but his wife most likely will. His latest flip-flop gets the issue out of the way now before his wife begins campaigning in two years.
